I am so proud to be part of a group of women that give with their whole hearts! The Mt. Hood Republican Women’ hold a annual Baby Shower, in support of the Sandy and Estacada Pregnancy Resource Center each year and it is always a great success! For over 15 years, the Pregnancy Resource Center has had its doors open to young women, ages 15 to 22 years old, and for 20 of those years, the Mt Hood Republican Women have supported them! The Resource Center offers a free ultrasound to every young mother that comes through their doors who is up to eight weeks pregnant. In addition, it provides parenting classes and adoption counseling. Every service they offer is free. The Pregnancy Resource Center accepts no money from the government. It is a faith-based organization that works with Heritage House, as well as with churches and businesses. The Mt. Hood Republican Women celebrate the Sandy and Estacada Pregnancy Resource Center by donating over 100 of their most requested baby items. These items will be placed in Pregnancy Resource Center’s Clinic Store where their young mothers can shop for items they need for their babies with the “baby bucks” they earn from attending parenting classes.
The Mt. Hood Republican Women’s Annual Baby Shower, which includes baby shower games and prizes, was a great way for all of us to have fun while celebrating these unborn children. The laughter and smiles in the meeting room is infectious; it is no wonder this is a coveted annual event for the Mt. Hood Republican Women and we are not done yet! Everyone that wants to participate can take a empty baby bottle to fill with extra change, which will be donated at a later date. |
